Jamie Cogburn holds a distinction that very few Nevada attorneys can claim: he is one of just 22 lawyers in the entire state certified as a Personal Injury Specialist by the State Bar of Nevada.
The designation is authorized under the Nevada Rules of Professional Conduct. It is administered by the Nevada Justice Association's Board of Personal Injury Legal Specialization, a five-member panel of Nevada attorneys tasked with reviewing every application against a strict set of standards.
To earn this certification, a candidate must clear a demanding set of benchmarks, including:
The certification is also not permanent. Every five years, certified specialists must undergo recertification, demonstrating continued trial experience, completing focused continuing legal education, and keeping their insurance and standing with the State Bar current.
Jamie is dedicated to taking cases to trial, which is evidenced by the jury verdicts and awards he has received throughout his career. Jamie is an AV-rated trial attorney and a member of the prestigious Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum, an impressive group of trial lawyers who have settled a case or won a trial for $2,000,000 or more. Less than 1% of lawyers in the United States qualify for membership.
Since 2010, Jamie has been identified as a Super Lawyer Rising Star, an honor bestowed to less than 5% of the best and brightest lawyers under the age of 40. Jamie has also been voted into the “Top 40 Under 40” by the National Trial Lawyers. Outside the office, Jamie spends time with his three children and fiancé. Jamie enjoys traveling, playing golf, and spending time with his family and friends.
